I have a current macbook (March 2009) that I am trying to connect to an older, non-HD tv. With the Dell laptop I had before buying the macbook, I did this simply through S-Video, or with a S-Video to composite Adapter. I tried the Apple Mini-DVI to video adapter, but found out that it isn't compatible with newer macbooks. So I have a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter (which I have used several times with no issues,) and I got a VGA to Video adapter (both s-video and composite.) When I try to connect with this however, my tv shows a very distorted, gray image. My first idea was the resolution or refresh rate, but no changes I make to either solves the problem. This problem is the same with s-video or composite. I have tried in Mac OS X and Windows with boot camp, and I have tried rebooting the computer with everything connected. I still get the same issue. I have tried this on two different tvs, with the same results.
