I recently swapped out my 750GB HDD for a 240GB SSD. I have multiple external hard drives that I'm using to store many things that used to fit on my HDD.

Anyway, I'm trying to manually copy my iPhoto library (33GB) to my external hard drive, but the same thing happens every time... It begins transferring, and once about 130MB transfers, it slows to about 0.1MB/s. I had no problem backing it up via Time Machine.

Before I set up Time Machine, I couldn't manually backup iPhoto to the drive, regardless of what filesystem is is. I currently have an HFS partition for Time Machine backups, and an exFAT partition for other stuff. I use exFAT because I use the same drive with Windows and I have files that are larger than 4GB.

Any help?
