I spilled beer on to two of my Macbook keys and wiped it up pretty quickly, but it killed my keyboard. Took it in to my local Apple store and as it was very very slow as a result of this, I was quoted around £670 as a worst case scenario to fix it. Decided to get a new one as that one is around 5 years old and I don't want to spend that much on getting an old item fixed.

6 months later, not having used it in that time span, it looks possible I won't be able to get a new one, so I'm looking in to getting my old one fixed.

It seems to have sort of fixed it's self, the only keys that don't respond are the A key and the function key also, it's painfully slow.

Would anyone be able to give me an estimate on how much it will cost to repair?

Didn't they tell you how much it would cost to repair? If you want a more recent quote (although it probably won't change much), get a free one from an Apple representative again.
