Not sure if this is posted in the right section, but I'm using my 2011 MBP to connect to an HDTV through the thunderbolt port. The connectors I'm using are mini display->HDMI cable->hdtv.

When I use the TV to see my screen, the whole picture is shifted to the left, cutting off the left portion of the screen, and leaving black space on the right portion of the monitor.

The proportions are totally correct, it's just that everything needs to be "shifted" so that it is visible. Anything I can do? Pic of the TV display attached.

from your tv's remote maybe look for picture settings and see if you can change it to native
