I bought a Logitech MX500 recently, pluged it in, downloaded the software to make all the buttons work, and it works absolutely fine. However when I restart or shutdown the computer and the turn it back on the mouse speed becomes really fast. I went under system prefs (OS10.3) > mouse & keyboards>mouse> tracking speeds. However the marker stays at the same place as it was last time (indicating no speed change), i then have to move the marker from the old position, to the new position , and then back again. Can anyone tell me if theere is anyway to fix this?

If you have anyother 3rd party mouse software (like Kensington MouseWorks, Microsoft, etc.) I read somewhere that they sometimes conflict causes all sorts of problems. I would suggest removing them.
