I have a Late 2013 27" iMac running 10.11.6

I recently had the mechanical HD of my 3TB Fusion Drive die. I was able to replace the mechanical HD without any issues. Even though I have regular backups of my iMac using Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner, I am having troubles with restoring certain user accounts back to my computer. I've got 3 user accounts on my iMac but when I run Migration Assistant, only a single user account shows up. BTW, when I run Time Machine or CCC, I have NOT deselected any folders. It should be backing up the entire Fusion Drive.

Here's my experience: once the computer had 10.11.6 reinstalled, I proceeded to try to get my data restore back to it. I had two potential backup/sources that I could restore from. I do a weekly clone of the full iMac Fusion drive using "Carbon Copy Cloner" onto an external HD. I also use Time Machine backing up to my 2TB Time Capsule. I used Migration Assistant to restore from the Time Machine backup. However, when it came to "Select the Information to Transfer" and under "Documents & Data", I clicked the "Edit" button to the right. All I saw was a single user account and the next line was "Other Files and Folders". My wife's account on the computer was not there. Neither was an account I call "Test". Essentially, the only account available to restore using Migration Assistant was a single user account-mine :(

I went through and restored my machine anyways using Migration Assistant with all the "checkboxes" checked. When my machine was running after Migration Assistant, my iMac was back to its previous state but there was only ONE user account.

FWIW, I've tried Migration Assistant selecting my Carbon Copy Cloner external drive and I also do NOT see the other user accounts. However, when I use "Finder" to look at the files on the CCC ext HD, I see my wife's account (along with all of the files and folders belonging to her) as well as the "Test" account as well as a guest account under "Users". I also see all of these accounts when I click and run the Time Machine app.

Do you have an idea what is going on and how I can restore my wife's user account on this iMac as cleanly and completely as possible with all permissions set appropriately?

Thank you for any help.

Strange. But I just looked at my Mac HD "Users" folder and my account is there along with my wife's and the test account. I just had to go to system preferences and set up "new" accounts for my wife and "test" using the same home folder name as before and the old user accounts are fully accessible now!!! Strange that these two accounts never showed up under Migration Assistant...
