I read through several posts concerning this problem, but no answers were listed. I am using mac mail going through man (hotmail). Sometimes (not all the time) it takes up to 1-2 minutes for my mail to send. I first thought it was too many graphics, etc., but today it took a long time to send a normal written email. Is there something or some setting I am missing? Thanks in advance for any help. Oh yes, this is happening on my iMac and not my macbook pro.

Same OS version on both machines? Same accounts setup on both machines?

I seem to remember both yahoo and hotmail offer somewhat limited options for non-web-based mail clients while gmail has excellent IMAP support. Why not consider using a gmail account instead? You don't have to change your email address. You can simply set gmail up to check your hotmail account and send and receive everything through gmail.
