problem sharing ican animate file to imovie

I tried sharing an ican animate animation I made with imovie so that I could add sound and titles. However, when the animation plays in imovie about one fifth of the picture is missing from the bottom of the screen. I have tried sharing it a number of times to see if it makes any difference but it doesn't. Can anyone advise?
