you mean you've never synced your photos to your computer? bad move.

There are programs for both PC and Mac that let you get photos off the phone. Whether or not they'd work given the state of your phone would be a matter of trial and error.

so i went to update my iphone today to 2.0.2 and lo and behold, just what happened to me on 2.0.1 happened, again. i downloaded the software, and then for some reason itunes disabled all of my usb ports; ruining the update. i plug the iphone back in after restarting my itunes and it says its in recovery mode and needs to be restored

the problem:

i have over 100 photos on my phone that i DO NOT WANT TO LOSE. i cant lose them. i dont really care about anything else on there i just care about my photos. IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET THE PHOTOS OFF IN RECOVERY MODE??? i assume they will get wiped if i do recover and i refuse to lose these!!!

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

download ziphone, then press "normal mode" should work.. worked for me.

i sync my photos with my computer (i believe) but i have no idea where they are.....

assuming you're on a PC (you need to tell people these things if you want help), there should be some sort of program that pops up when you plug your iPhone in that asks if you want to download the photos. Did it ever do that?

an autorun does come up but i assumed that when i "sync" or "backup" in itunes it would do that to my photos as well.

i am on a pc (xp)

i did take a bunch of photos off a little while ago so it wouldnt kill me entirely, it would just suck, a lot. i'm trying the ziphone option, but its stuck on "searching for the iphone" even though it is connected and recognized by itunes as simply "iPhone" that needs to be restored

sync/backup does not include photos. the autorun is how you get photos FROM the phone...sync is how you put photos ON the phone.

yes, i just restored and all of my photos were there!!!!!!!!!!!! whew. thanks for the help though everyone.

Instead of changing the name of your thread asking for it to be deleted, why don't you change the title back to the original title and tell us how your problem was solved so others can learn from it?

Still, it's generally appreciated if questions are not deleted, as other people may use the forum search function or Google or the like to find them again. After all, it's worth it to your fellow internet peeps to help you if it means helping many other people at the same time. So please don't be selfish and don't delete your questions after they've been answered. Thanks. :)
