Hello,
I recently got me a bluetooth headset, Sony Ericson MW600, which i paired with my macbook pro, as well as with my iPhone 4. It works fine to listen to music in stereo via iTunes over bluetooth, as well as making phone calls.
However, i'd like to transmit ANY audio from the macbook to the headset. For example i'm using MAX/MSP to generate audio in various ways, but when i try to route this audio to the headset, the headset interprets this as a phone call, it switches to far inferior sound quality, and is in mono, instead of the stereo i get when using itunes for instance.
- Does anyone have a clue how to make the headset use the superior stereo audio when playing audio from macbook, instead of switching to "phone call mode"? Is this possible?
I understand that in someway it uses the A2DP protocol to send the stereo audio over bluetooth, and the sound quality when using iTunes is just fine.
- Maybe there's a work around for this, can i make the headset believe that it's itunes sending the audio? Anything else i need to do? Anybody have a clue?
- Or maybe i should use some other kind of gear...? Any recommendations? Will this work, for instance? http://www.b-speech.de/en/produkt-information/stereo-headsets-und-adapter/b-speech_rx2/
I'm not sure what the A2DP-protocol means or does, and i don't understand why all these headsets are set up to only play music (plus making phone calls). I would like to get ALL the sounds of the computer in my bluetooth headset.
I would appreciate any help on this topic.
kind regards/ Petter
