Ok I have an Apple TV and I used to be able to stream music/shows from my bedroom iMac or my macbook with relative ease. In the last 2 months though, it has been very slow and shows won't stream at all and podcasts and music are very choppy. At 1st I thought it might be my internet connection but it still clocks out at around 28mb/s down and around 8mb/s up. I also don't have problems streaming web content or content with a roku on another tv, so I'm thinking it has to be something with the Apple TV, suggestions?

Is it possible that something is taking up wireless bandwidth at the same time you are streaming to the ATV?

Try turning off home sharing on your ATV and turning it right back on. If that doesn't work, do the unplug ATV, wait a minute, plug ATV back in method. Sounds simple, but it usually works.

Haha wow, who would have thought something that simple would do it. I just turned home sharing off and on and it seemed to fix it. Thanks!
