Hi everyone,

I have a bit of an unusual problem, and I'm hoping that someone here has either experienced something similar and has a fix, or has some ideas that I haven't tried that will lead to it!

The problem is this: video I shoot with my camera, when imported, is registered as being off by ten hours from when I actually shot it by most of Apple's products. For example, if I shoot video at 10 PM on April 22, when I import it into Photos it claims the video was shot at noon on April 22. iMovie also views the time incorrectly. However, Finder sees the file date/creation time correctly. I don't think it's just related to Photos and iMovie, however, because I use my camera manufacturer's GPS application to tag photos and videos, and it seems that no video files ever get tagged. It would seem that the application and/or iPhone is also viewing the video files incorrectly. This issue is limited to video, however; photos are recognized with the proper date and time.

I'm not traveling, and as far as I can tell, this is not a time zone issue. No time zone can be set in the camera.

My setup: I'm shooting with an Olympus E-M1 Mk2. I have it set to save video to storage card #1 (H.264 MOV files), and photos to storage card #2. Time is automatically synchronized using Olympus' mobile application, which allows me to have the phone set its date and time to the camera when they're wirelessly connected. I've verified that the date and time on the camera and phone are both correct. My iMac has its date and region set to be automatic based on location, and I've verified that to be correct, as well.

What I've tried: Based on a suggestion from another Olympus user, I tried changing the date format (which theoretically shouldn't do anything), and it didn't make a difference. I tried changing some of the movie Time Code settings, I reset the time and frame to "current time" but it didn't make a difference. I tried entering the time manually, and I also tried to change the Time Code Mode from Drop Frame (default) to Non-DF, but none of those things made a difference. (I have to admit, I'm not sure what these settings actually do.)

I'm not totally sure whether the problem lies on the camera's end, or whether it's something with the software. I can't say with 100% certainty that the iPhone is having the same problem with the files; if it were, then it would seem like an issue with the way the camera is tagging its video files. If it were limited to the Mac, then it would seem like a Mac problem. For now, I'm just time shifting the files in Photos, but this seems like something that shouldn't be happening in the first place.

The last resort is a total camera reset, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. Any ideas?

I have the same problem, however the time stamp on imported movies from my Lumix GH4 is only 1 hour "gap". When shooting photos the time is 15.22, while shooting movie the time is 16.22. But this is only in iPhoto. If I import as a file to my iMac, it tells the correct time: 15.22. If I then import to iPhoto from that file on the computer, iPhoto is again setting the time to 16.22.
I don't know what to do about this.
