Ordinarily, this has worked fine for me in the past -- I could transfer apps bought on the iPhone 3GS by hooking it up to iTunes on my MacBook Pro, I click on the iPhone menu item, "Transfer Purchases from iPhone", and it worked fine.

For some reason, it's not working now. It appears to be working -- the bar shows up at the top of iTunes, naming the apps that need to be transferred, and it looks like it's doing it -- but when I check the App library on iTunes, the supposedly transferred apps aren't there.

I also just backed up the iPhone....presumably I could wipe my phone and then restore it, but....what if the new apps aren't there?

Any ideas? I have a number of apps bought on my phone that I don't want to re-buy, that I would like to back up and also transfer to my iPad and iTouch (specifically Grooveshark, since I snagged that on the phone before it got pulled).
