Problem Upgrading HDD on MBP 17"

Hi all, I've done some searching but wasn't able to find any solutions.

I just purchased a WD Scorpio Blue 640GB 2.5 inch to replace my old HDD.

Installation is fine and computer powers on but when I install OSX it cannot find any hard drive to install it to....

I only noticed that the new HDD has a power input beside the ribbon input while my old HDD does not have the power input... any suggestions? thanks!
