Hi all! I just bought a WD Element external hard drive and I'm having some problems. I've tried to initialize in every way ( Disk utility, terminal) but it doesn't work.
The HD just came out of the box, I plugged in tried to initialize and got the problem. Here's what I got from diskutil. Can you help me?

Does the drive have any proprietary WD software pre-installed?
Such as "password protection"?
This could be messing things up.

You need to go to WD's site.
Then, find and download the WD Mac drive management utility.
Then, use that to REMOVE any proprietary software.

Once that is removed, try disk utility again...
