hey all
got a new used mac pro the other day. great specs, awesome machine. and the monitor i got for it is the acer p221w. it looked better than anything else in the store and was only 269.
if i turn the monitor on first, then the computer, the picture is perfect in every way. however, once its on like this, if i then turn the monitor off and then on again, there is some strange pixely interference. the monitor will also occasionally insist that the input is not supported. i've found that if i reboot the computer, or sleep it and then wake it up, the monitor goes back to being perfect.
likewise, if i turn the computer on before the monitor, it gets the same pixely crap.
its as if the monitor only recognizes the input video correctly if the computer is turned on after the monitor. its way strange. and though i have found a makeshift solution, i could still swap the monitor out for something else. anyone have any ideas?
