I’m setting up a new mb14 with apple silicon. My intel based Mac had a problem with an app that carried through to the new Mac the first time I used migration assistant. Been through rounds and rounds with the developer, they aren’t fixing it. The error is not present on a fresh install of Mac OS.

is it possible to avoid an app specific problem while still using parts of migration assistant? What should I avoid, the main user profile? ive uninstalled and reinstalled this app many times And the error persists, been down tech support rabbit hole for over a year.

If you check the Applications box during migration, all apps come over. There is no way to only bring some apps or skip some apps.

You might try making a second account and see if the app has troubles there. That would at least tell you if it is something unique to your account.
