I am running 10.5.8. Nothing new has been downloaded recently, no haxies, etc.

Last night I came home from work, booted up the iMac and tried to open my Apple Mail app. Unfortunately, the icon bounced, it added that little dot underneath indicating an open app, it read Mail in the menubar (with all related drop window options)....but no Mail window opened up for me to actually SEE my mail or folders. I quit the app and have tried to reopen several times. Same result. I can right click on the Mail icon in my dock and compose a new email message which sends. For that, a window opens, but I cannot get a window of my Mail app to open and display. Also turned the machine off and on. No go. I can access my mail using the Mobile Me web browser mail, so stuff is coming in and going out through Apple's servers just fine. It is the local app on my machine which is refusing to display

Anyone encountered this before? Thoughts?
