I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro Late '09 with Snow Leopard (10.6.4) and I want to connect it to a larger display. It's an LG Flatron W2261VP. But if I do it, I have a black screen and the display goes to the energy saving mode. (tested with DVI and VGA adapters) Why's that?

Do anyone have a solution for me?

Does the display somehow show up in System Preferences > Displays or even in System Profiler > Hardware > Graphics/Displays? Can you test the monitor with another computer or the adapters with another working display?

Yes, the display is in the System Preferences and it works perfectly with another computer.

I don't know exactly why, but it works now.

But now I have a black bar (?) on the right side of the display with the normal resolution. :( (1920x1080)

Edit: All the other resolutions work.
