Hey guys, had no issues with my contacts since I got the phone in January of this year. Today, randomly, I sent my friend a text and when he responded, it came from a different number. My contacts are stored without the country code (1) in front of them and i've never had a problem. Now suddenly today, text messages I receive are coming in as unknown people. The number in the text DOESN'T have the country code in front either, just like my contacts. The only way to get it to recognize the person, is to go manually add the country code in front of their number, and then all is better. All my gps, speedtest, etc find me in Pittsburgh PA, which is correct, so the phone doesn't think I'm out of the country.
As I said, this has not been an issue until today. Is there a way to get my contacts and texts to be in sync or do I need to go through my phonebook, 1 person at a time, adding the country code so they are recognized again?
Does anyone know what would have cause this?
Edit: I tried to go into the message and add each number to an existing contact, and it still doesn't recognize them as being in my contacts. This is a Verizon iPhone.
Furthermore if I put the country code in front of the number, the messages notifications doesn't recognize the number. So now I have to keep two numbers in my phone, one with the country code, one without. This has to be some sort of bug/glitch.
Thanks
