Problem with continuing back up in iTunes

This is my first time having iTunes on a computer. (20" iMac bought last month). I went to the Back up to Disk and did the backup on a TDK DVD+R of what music I had both downloaded from iTunes and added from existing CD's.
That worked. After adding more music I tried to back up on the same DVD and had checked off the Only Back up items added or changed. All I got was Insert Blank Disk. So, what am I doing wrong or is it my media or?
