Problem with Dell U3415W and 2017 MBP touchbar

Hello I recently got a 2017 MBP with touchbar 15" and a dell U3415W with a usb c to display port adapter. After a couple minutes the external monitor turns into these vertical colored lines. What could it be?

Many of the adapters are junk.
Try a USB c to displayport cable. There are a few good ones on eBay from China for about $10.
