I recently purchased a Dual 2 G5 with 1 gig ram. When I try to hook
it to my ViewSonic PF790 has an interment problem (like 3 out of 10
boots). The problem is that after the Apple splash screen the monitor
goes to sleep (it does come all the way up, but no video). If you
turn the monitor off and on it gives the no sync message. If you
reboot then everything works fine. When the monitor does work the
display properties show that I have a generic monitor connected.
I spent several hours in the store where I bought it today with the
Apple lady and some Apple tech, but we were not able to solve the
problem. From all of our tests we have come to the conclusion that
there is some kind of problem with that monitor and the dual 2 G5 with
the pro9600 graphics card. I checked all of the manufactures website
and found no reported issues like mine.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do to try and resolve this
problem?
Does anyone have a PF790 that is working correctly with a dual 2 G5?
Thanks,
Doug
