Problem with External HDD

Hi every one.

I have a mac pro with macos 10.5.8, and an external western digital hdd 500 gb, for maybee 2/6 years.

Sometime ago, when i try to start the WD mainly for backups,
the disk turns on, works aparantly fine, but macos doesn't recognise it.
It does not apear in desktop, or in devices.
Simply does not exists in macos.


I already try to plug it by USB port, FIREWIRE PORT and none of them
works.


I tried to connect in my Imac and it happens de samething. :(


Does anyone have some ideia about, what this could be?
