Hey all,

I've been using iChat with no problems whatsoever in previous OSX versions. Now that I've gone to Mavericks, this has been replaced with Messages, and I'm having trouble making it work for the same things. In this case,

- Both myself and the contact are on macs, mine the first version of Mavericks, himself on Snow Leopard
- The contact is an AIM contact.
- When I try to call him, I just go to a screen where I can look at myself and a picture of his profile, but I cannot actually make a call.

It's so frustrating, I've been using it to make fairly important calls and now all of a sudden I can't do so. We can Skype still but it would be nice to just be able to do it the way we have been, and iChat was way more stable than Skype whereas Messages can't even seem to call him.

Does anybody have a solution to this problem?

Thanks a lot
