Problem with Finder Resizing

I am having trouble in SL (10.6.3) setting a default size for the finder window. I set the window to how wide I want it, close it out, and then reopen finder and navigate to the folder and it is too small again (I want the videos there to show up as three columns, but the window is barely too narrow turning it into two columns).


Also, is it possible to change every folder icon/grid spacing across the entire system to the same size all at once...?

Bumps violate forum rules, by the way.

How are you then navigating to the resized folder? Do you have Finder set to open a new window when you double click a folder? If not, the window size is not affected when you open a new folder in the same window.

Its fine....I found on another site that I could delete the finder .plist file in the library preferences and that it would restore the default settings in finder. This has fixed my issue. Thank you anyway.
