Problem With Finder.

I have an external Hard Drive attached to my iMac, everything works fine except......I have "Arrange By" set to "Date Created" yet when I shut down the iMac it defaults back to "Arrange By" "Name"
I have changed it numerous times but it always defaults back to "Arrange By" "Name"

Have any other members come across this ?
