Problem with Gmail and Safari

So, I use gmail these days for almost all of my email. Anyways, I've noticed that using safari, I do not see the quick contacts box on the left hand side of my email. If I use firefox I do see the quick contacts box and the list of my contacts. Whats the deal?

Google doesn't yet support chat in safari. It's not broken (at your end) they just haven't made it work yet. (or at least hadn't last time I looked)

it sure needs cooperation between apple and google. u can wait and see. at the same time, It does work in gecko based browsers, firefox, or camino, or netscape
