when i do a video chat, i can see everyone eles clear and smooth, but
my video is always jerky. Even in my preview its jerky

Im using a powerbook G4 1.33 and a Canon digi cam

is there anything i can do to fix this?

Which canon digicam are you using -- do you mean you're using a digital (still) camera or do you have a canon webcam or FW DV cam? When you click on your own video icon, to see your own video locally, is it smooth or jerky? The two major possibilities are that for some reason your cam is not sending your computer clean video (which would mean that even when you do a local view, it would be jerky) or that you have a one-way bottleneck in your sending internet connection.

Go into iChat->Preferences

Click on the video tab. There is a menu at the bottom for bandwidth limit. This should be set to 'none'. Is that the case for you?
