Problem with iChat Away Messages/Status... Help?

I'm using the latest version of iChat, and use an AIM screen name. I have myself set as away, yet when people on my buddy list, or not, IM me, they are NOT getting my Away Message in the IM window!

What gives?

I've searched the forums... I've looked at the Help... and I have tested it from another computer and AIM screen name, using iChat on the other computer, and tried it with AIM and AOL too... and my Away Message is not being sent out. They can see my away status, but don't get the message.

Any tips?

Go to iChat
Prefrences
click the "General Tab"
4th Checkbox "Auto-Reply with Away Message"


Also make sure that you have the away message that has a red dot. The green dot is like... what you are doing but im online thing... red dot=away

I guess this is an example of when people try and make things a lot harder and more complicated than they really are.

I think it's just been a really tough week for me though and the last couple days... my mind is just not 100% right now.
