I've got a problem with installing FCP 5 on my macbook pro. I am currently using the same version on my primary working mac at my friends studio, but want to be able to take work home.
When I launch the set-up by pressing the install icon I get to the window where I need to fill out name, organization and serial number. But for some reason the 'continue' button never lights up and I'm unable to press it and continue with the installation. I thought it might be because there wasn'nt enough free space on my harddisc (it requires around 29GB), but I tried again after moving my iTunes library and ran into the same problem.
Is it because this version isn't universal? I thought you were supposed to install version 5 first and then run the update to the dual core 5.1 version?
Has anybody heard of this? - It's pretty annoying not to know the reason...
Thanks,
A

yeah, Lethal is right.

you cannot install version 5 on your macbook pro and then do software update to get 5.1. you will need to send in your FCP5 discs and crossgrade to 5.1.

Try put a space (with the tab key) after the last letter or number in the SN and the (OK) buttom worked.
Then the installation went flawless.
