iPad Problem with iPad YouTube app

Posting this on my dad's behalf as he has just bought an iPad Retina. He's been using the YT app and for the first few days it was working fine but suddenly the volume control on the YT app has disappeared.

Have tried everything including deleting and downloading the app again but when you open up the app and play back any videos, there is no option to control the volume.

Appreciate if anyone can help.

There's a Volume Control button in the app? You should just be able to use the Volume buttons on the iPad, itself, to control the sound in the app. That's what I do when I use the YT app.

Same here I'm pretty sure there were never volume controls built into the youtube app
