Problem with Iphone 2G using OS 3.0

last week i have updated OS 3.0 for my Iphone 2G, after installed, i am not getting incoming calls and battery power is loosing in 4 hours. even i am not installed cydia.

Please let me know the solution and is there any problem, if i downgrade to 2.2.1 version.
 
While restore to 2.2.1 version, i am getting (error message 1601),

Please let me know the steps to rectify
