problem with Iphoto 09

I installed I Life 09 on 2 mac books, on mine I found no problems, on my wifes the photos do not show up in the "events". The event names are there but the box is black, when you open an event the photo names are there but only a few random photos visible. If I go under the "recent" tab all the photos are visible. I did an album rebuild by opening I Photo while holding down the command and option keys but this only added a few more random photos. Anyone have any suggestions? thanks
