Hi there,

I've been having a problem with my iPods headphone port, where if the headphones jack bends at all in the port then the volume will suddenly jump to maximum. Needless to say it's scared the crap out of me on many occasions!

It does this all the time in my pocket so it's not something I can easily control happening.

Has this problem ever happened to anyone else? Just curious to see what my options are.

This happened to me on some earphones i bought. I was on FaceTime, i Could hardly hear the person, then it would become really loud. Until you wiggled the jack around it would stop

You might check to see if there is lint or other matter inside the headphone port. From time to time my iPod acts up (usually involves voice control) and I find a small turd of compacted lint inside. Luck to you.
