Problem with iTunes

I just bought a new Macbook Pro (which runs on Lion) and I just transferred everything that's in iTunes on my old iMac (which runs on Snow Leopard). Everything in iTunes should be in one folder but the item count is different on the two computers. My old iMac says I have 23171 items while my new Macbook Pro says I have like 22939 items. Why is the song count different? Since I have a pretty big library, I can't really compare my albums one by one to find out what is missing. This is driving me insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you gone into iTunes and to the menu item "Store" and in the drop-down 'Authorize This Computer" and put it your iTunes Store account.
