problem with itunes

when i go to my computer its tells my that the ipod touch is connected but when i go to itunes i does nohting.there is no device.
can anyone help me?

This sometimes happens with me. I think my problem is due to the usb cable..
It only usually happens with one of the two cables I have.

Try unplugging it and plugging it in again, that usually gets itunes to see it. If that doesn't work try rebooting the ipod with it attached.

Try borrowing a cable off a friend and see if the problem persists.

try a uninstalla nd reinstall of itunes (you will not loose any music)
uninstall in this order
quicktime
itunes
apple mobile device support
apple software update
apple application support
reboot computer
got www.apple.com click downloads and download and install itunes and try again.

i have tried that many times,that doesn't work.its my 1 ipod touch.

i just downloaded the newest itunes and i think i dont have to do it.
my friend told me that i have to check something in the control panel.can anytone tell me what to do next when im in the control panel?
