Problem with Mail (from Outlook user)

I love the simple functionality of Mail except I have one question... On outlook whenever I "delete" a message it would automatically take me to the next old message. On Mail it takes me to the most recent message when I hit delete. Is there a way to configure this so I see the next msg like Outlook had it on my pc?
