Problem with mail

So on my iphone I set up my email for messages to be deleted and not archived. It worked the same way on my apple watch, but now all of a sudden I cant delete from my apple watch. It only lets me archive the email. I didnt change anything, but the delete option is no longer there. Has this happened to anyone else or know how to fix this.
