I have a brand new 12TB drive (unionSine)

my colleague put a bunch of material on it for me - he has a windows system and I have a MAC system

I have NTFS for Mac running, and the drive shows up in the NFTS for Mac listing, but somehow it can NOT mount it.

I verified and then repaired then drive, and the app told me that it was repaired successfully, but so far it has still NOT been able to mount it.

Please do let me know if there's anything else that I can do ... thanks!

update: I have run it through verify / repair (NTFS FOR MAC) several times, and it gets a clean bill of health, but I still can not mount the darn thing.

I am currently running SONOMA 14.4.1 - I still have to update to VENTURA - maybe that would help?

grateful for any suggestions!

Your NTFS volume has no name. Give it a name. FYI, Ventura would be “downgrade” from Sonoma.

is it possible to give it a name using the NFTS-FOR-MAC app? thanks! (and yes, sorry, Sequoia is the latest os, right?)

thanks again!

Here's the better fix:
1. Give the drive back to your friend
2. Tell him to erase it to exFAT (NOT NTFS)
3. Once that's done, THEN ask him to copy the files that you want to see
4. Try the drive with your Mac now.

Have you tried Read Only ?
My NTFS Volume on the Dual Partition WD 12TB USB Drive mounts also without NTFS for Mac.
To just read you do not need a driver.
I have only Windows APFS on my Windows Laptop installed because the most Data i store is on the APFS Partition and i can read out NTFS on my Mac anyway, so my old NTFS for Mac by Paragon License could not be activated again after having to install MacOS multiple times and they said just i had the License activated to much....
Lifetime License ??? After this i stopped buying Paragon.

And even after i have got a free License from BuhoNTFS Lifetime - Single (1 Mac), i have not installed it yet because my Network is good and i simply do not need it because you can read NTFS withoud Third Party Driver.
