Problem with MS Communicator & USB audio

I'm running OSX Lion 10.7.1 on a Macbook Pro (Early 2008) and having trouble getting my workplace issue USB headset/phone working with it. I'm running Microsoft Communicator 13.1.2 to connect to our MS OCS/Lync 2010 service.

The equipment models in question are a Polycom CX200 USB phone and a Plantronics .Audio 630M USB headset.

Both were working under Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

Does anyone know if there were major changes to the USB audio driver in Lion that would prevent these bits of kit working?

First try to Reset Your PRAM. Then go into System Preferences->Sound and check the Input & Output mini tabs to select the USB audio device.
