My mouse will connect to the computer and be able to click, but the blinking red light underneath will turn off. It blinks slowly when I turn it on to indicate that it is connecting, but when it does connect, it turns off.

If it can click but the cursor doesn't move, then you need more power from your batteries. Cheaper brands generally sell lower-quality batteries so maybe try a more expensive brand of battery.
