problem with my external HDD in XP

im running XP SP1 on my MBP through bootcamp and I have a strange problem: I cannot access one of my folders on my external HDD in XP, but i can in OSX. It gives me an "access denied" message when i try to access it in windows. But in OSX, i can see the folder, see its contents, use the contents, etc. The
drive is formatted in NTFS. Additionally, when i tried to check the info of the folder in windows, it says it contains "0 bytes". What could be the problem?
