Hey all... i just stumbled upon this site and thought i'd join and say hi!

also i'm having a problem with my firewire drive. It is about 3 years old and has always worked well... recently i was having trouble retrieving and accessing files off of it. Whenever i'd run a movie or video file I was unable to get it to work.
I would load Mpgs and .avi files into VLC... and i'd get an "input/output" error. my mp3 files are very slow and choppy...
I've tried restarting the harddrive, restarting my computer... i checked disk utilities and tried to repair it... but i'm gettin nowhere...

any help from all you mac fans out there?
peace,
Mike

Unfortunately you may have fallen a victim to HD failure unless you want to pay a lot of money for data restoration. My macbook's seagate died a few months back and I lost everything myself :(
