Hi,
I have bought a Seagate Momentus 7200RPM Hybrid ST750LX003 to replace the 250gb hard drive in my mid 2009 MBP.
Following advice I have been trying to use SuperDuper to clone the existing drive onto the new one. I bought a hard drive enclosure and have connected the Seagate to the MBP. After erasing the disk and starting the cloning process (it was in the process of copying files and had completed about 1GB), the new hard disk disconnected (a fragile USB connection on the cheap enclosure that I bought).
Now SuperDuper will not see the new hard disk. I can see it in disk utility and have tried to erase the disk to start again from scratch. However the process seems to get stuck at "unmounting disk" and has been doing that for hours.
Is the hard drive fried? What else should I try? How long might it take to finish unmounting?
Many thanks for your help
