I´m streaming youtube videos on my Tiger PBG4 using https://iteroni.com (an Invidious site like ytprivate). I use InterWebPPC and it works just fine. I want to do the same on my 2ghz Dual G5, which has Leopard, but i get an error saying "no compatible source was found for this media". The G5 handles "on browser" YouTube smoothly, but i prefer Invidious for saving cpu cycles. Any ideas on how to fix this or what causes the error? Thanks in advance, here are the screenshots for Tiger on the G4 and Leopard on the G5:

I think it depends on the the codec the chosen Youtube video is encoded with - they use variants now.

The video you referenced doesn't work for me either but other videos do - on the whole though, the invidious sites don't perform how they did previously.

Usually my ad blocker is to blame in such cases - but uBlock never before did this. Still, give it a try and disable it temporarily
I´ve tried using a fresh profile with no extensions at all. No luck. :(

That would make sense, but that video does play on Tiger. On the G4 - Tiger - InterWeb side I discovered that not all videos work, but it seems to be a random thing. Even the same video plays fine sometimes, and sometimes it doesn´t. That certainly could be an Invidious issue, but here´s the strange fact: the site works fine using Safari 4 or WebKit, everytime i tested. Now, on the G5 - Leopard - InterWeb side, no video loads, not a single time. Webkit plays them fine like it does on Tiger. So it has to be something about the combination of the browser and the OS. To add further confusion, the site works flawlessly on my MacBook using regular Firefox. To sum up things:

G4 - Tiger - InterWeb: ? (mostly)
G4 - Tiger - WebKit: ?
G5 - Leopard - InterWeb: ?
G5 - Leopard - Webkit: ?
MB - High Sierra - Firefox: ?

I´ve tried TenFourFox (just in case) and it behaves just like InterWeb, as was to be expected. Maybe I could install an older version of Firefox on the MacBook and see what happens. Anybody knows what version of Firefox are InterWeb / TFF based on?

@alenu it is an odd one as I tested my theory that your linked video had differently encoded videos but it doesn't (compared with videos that do play.)

I don't have a G5 to test but on my Powerbook the videos that do play, work across InterWeb and Webkit on Tiger and Leopard.

Ok, thanks, that helps. It seems to be something related with my particular G5 then. I don´t know how the browser works, but, could it be possible that there are some missing codecs or libraries on my Leopard installation that the browser relies on to play the videos?
