I recently had to create a new user account for myself because my old one kept making the finder stop responding. The new account has been fine except for I don't have permission to access a lot of things.
When I moved all of my stuff from the old account I used the account prefpane to delete and keep the home folder in the users folder. Then I copied everything to it's respective place in my new home folder. I tried to change the permissions by selecting my new home folder and getting info on it, then changing the permissions and selecting the "apply to enclosed items" option, but when I do that, none of the enclosed items change, their permissions remain the same.
It doesn't seem like I should have to change the permissions for every single file and folder individually, it would probably take like a year anyway, so is their some other way to do it?
