I install a font and now when I click to see my font list the font preview comes very slow... you know the small preview of the font it comes out when you see the font list... they start coming out veryyy slow

What happened?

Is it just in Photoshop that you observe the sluggishness? With 2GB of RAM it could very well be that you've opened enough applications to increase memory "pageouts." By default, Photoshop consumes about half the installed RAM. Within its Preferences, click the Performance tab and adjust it down a bit. In your case perhaps 750MB is max. Then see if the problem is resolved by restarting your Mac.

If that resolves the problem, you may find MenuMeters helpful. You can then activate the option to display used and free memory; clicking on it shows a menu displaying whether pageouts are occurring.
