Problem with Preferences

In my user Preferences folder, there are a lot of folders with gibberish for the folder names (take a look at the attached image). I delete these folders, but they always come back. Is this a sign of a problem? If so, how do I fix it?

You better leave them as they are. They don't hurt anybody do they?
