Problem with RAM Install on a MacBook Pro 13 in 2009

Hi - I recently tried to increase my RAM from 2gb to 8gb but when all 8gb are installed it won't power up and beeps three times indicating there is a problem with either the RAM or the install. However when I install a 4gb and one of the original 1gb it works fine. I have tried every combination in every slot and all work except when I install the full 8 gb in either slot. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is it a firmware issue? I am using Crucial 8GB Kit DDR3L-1600 for the 8gb and the original Samsung 8500S RAM.

Your computer should handle 8GB no problem, make sure it has fully updated firmware and try again.

Else I'd return the RAM and try another pair.

Your machine can only use PC3-8500.
When it see the one PC3-8500 chip it knows to downclock the other one.
When it doesn't see any PC3-8500 it gives an error.
You'll need to stick with the correct RAM.
